Worry Free Outdoor Fun With Lessy Messy

With the final weeks of summer fast approaching, you may find yourself feeling exhausted. It can be tempting to take cover from the high temperatures and never ending messes that come with the outdoor activities. I have had my fair share of temptations to bunker down inside, but I don’t want to let the rest of the summer go by without me savoring every moment. I know in the midst of the busy days, summer adventures, sibling squabbles, and the endless on the go feeling, when everyone is back in school, I will miss this time. So I’m jumping into all the summer adventures enjoying some worry free outdoor fun these last few weeks of summer!

This post has been sponsored by Lessy Messy. All opinions are my own. You can view my full disclosure policy here.

Worry Free Family Fun

If I am being honest, sometimes thinking about the mess makes me want to avoid the activity all together. Summer brings intense heat waves, and I don’t want to be outside for hours setting up family friendly activities to have the kids last half an hour before I have to turn around and clean it up again. Having worry free outdoor fun means being able to easily clean up when we are done so I can get inside to manage the chaos in the house.

Lessy Messy has been a game changer in our home.  Lessy Messy takes all the outdoor fun and makes it worry free. The Lessy Messy mat is made from Multilayered fabrics using advanced technology in textiles to give it the unique combination of being leak proof and safe for the washer and dryer. Most leak proof fabrics can’t be washed and dryed, but the Lessy Messy mat can! It protects your carpet, clothes, flooring, car seat, car trunk and is 100% safe for kids! The clean up becomes ten times easier for worry free family fun!

Family Friendly Activities

A few of our favorite family friendly activities can be put together quickly and our Lessy Messy mat can be used for easy clean up. If your kids are anything like mine they don’t last long outside in this heat, so it’s nice to know that everything can be cleaned up quickly. Worry free outdoor fun is the best for keeping everyone busy this summer!

If you’re looking for a few worry free kid friendly activities, here are some ideas:

Water Table Fun

There are endless options for water table activities. My littlest loves just a few good water toys and some cold water to splash in. But you can use water tables for sensory activities, bubbles, slime and more! Think outside of the box for this one. Just lay the Lessy Messy mat underneath and clean up is easy!

Outdoor Finger Painting

Finger painting is one thing I like to reserve for outside whenever I can..actually any painting. Painting is so messy and can get everywhere fast, so whenever I can we paint outside. The Lessy Messy mat is perfect to set up painting and can be easily washed when done. It also offers a soft spot for the kids to paint, so they really enjoy it.

Backyard Family Picnic

We love a good backyard picnic! It’s simple and we don’t have to pack food to go, and it means I don’t have to sweep the floor after dinner. The Lessy Messy mat contains all the mess, even liquid! When we are done, we throw it in the wash and it’s good to go!

Backyard Pool Fun

We have pool passes this year, but nothing beats being able to have some backyard pool fun. This is a fun way to beat the pool crowd and just soak up the sun while the kids play. They can run around, jump on the trampoline, play with their backyard toys, and jump in the pool to cool off. It is also less stress on me because it’s easier to keep an eye on them. Our Lessy Messy mat is perfect for laying in the sun or taking a break from all that running around.

There are endless possibilities for worry free outdoor fun! So while it’s tempting to stay inside and beat the heat, you don’t want to let the last weeks of summer go by without enjoying it. I have been challenging myself to really get outside and make memories with the kids because summer is going to be over before we know it. We only get eighteen summers with our kids, and I want to make them count!

You deserve to exist, with the same grace and love You deserve to exist, with the same grace and love that you so freely give to your family. It’s not just about holding space for them; it’s about holding space for you, too.

You don’t have to shrink yourself to make room for others.

You deserve to take up space too.
Sometimes, the habits that helped us survive becom Sometimes, the habits that helped us survive become the hardest to unlearn. Those patterns once kept you safe, but now you’re learning they don’t need to anymore.

Give yourself grace—you’re unlearning survival. Healing takes time, and with each layer you peel back, you’re discovering the person you’ve always been beneath the survival.

And if you’re anything like me, you’ll really learn to love her. ❤️
✨ NEW SEASON ✨ I’m not a big fan of change. ✨ NEW SEASON ✨

I’m not a big fan of change. My nervous system gets all panicky and tends to over research every possibility that could take place. It likes to tell me safety is in the details.

But I know that’s not true.

This year has been a big year of growth for me in this department. Trauma told me control was my safety, but the truth was all I ever had was a false sense of control.

This year has offered plenty of opportunities for me to say, “Okay God, you have my yes, wherever that leads.”

No over research. No over analyzing. No predicting every possibility. No trying to control the outcome.

Just a heart that says, “Yes.”

Even when I don’t understand. Even when I’m nervous how it will turn out. Even when it feels like right now isn’t bad. Even when my heart’s confused.

Even when….

God has been asking us both a lot lately, “Do I have your yes, no matter what that looks like?” Friday was the end of a season for Chad working at the Appliance Guys, and today starts a new season of a new company. It was NOT an easy decision, and it came with a lot of tears (mainly from me - are you surprised?). His boss, where he’s been for the last almost six years, has been an incredible support for our family as we walked through some of the hardest seasons of our family. They will always hold a special place in our heart.

But God said “it’s time” and my faith-filled husband said “Yes.” I have to admit, I don’t envy how hard this decision was for him. It affects us both, yes. But he had to walk it out. And I’m so grateful for His leadership and faith to Jesus to step into the next season when there are so many unknowns.

Sometimes, all God wants to know is does He have our “YES” no matter what that means. No matter what that changes.

May I live my life in a way that has an open heart to hear from God and a willingness to say “YES” even when….

(PS he was so thrilled I made him take this photo. 😂 But I know this season will be one we forever ever want to remember, because God always shows His faithfulness).
I wonder if they would have chosen life for her. I wonder if they would have chosen life for her.

I wonder if they would have seen what was growing inside of her, and the fight that was about to come on the other side, if they would have said her life was worth saving.

I wonder if they would have discounted her before she had a chance.

I wonder if they would have made a prediction about her quality of life and deemed her not worth the cost.

I wonder if they would have saw the life saving measures she would need and decided that it was worse to let her live.

I wonder if they would have saw everything that could go wrong, the bleak prognosis, and compared her to statistics.

I wonder if they would have made a choice to encourage a decision that robbed us all of the miracle we see today.

Whether 48 hours or 4 years - her life has changed mine for the better. It’s heartbreaking to think someone may have once told me she wasn’t worth it.
