Grace is Favor.
Favor is an an “act of kindness beyond what is due or usual.”
How true is that of Grace? Grace is God’s kindness upon those He loves when we are beyond undeserving of it. The favor of God poured out upon us in showers of grace.
Picture that for a moment.
You woke up late and rushed to get the children ready and get out the door. Then on the way out you spilt coffee all over the place, but you didn’t even have time to clean it up. You got caught by every red light imaginable when you’re already late, therefore you were even later. You finally made it to your destination and realized you didn’t even bring the diaper bag. But someone reaches out to you. The person in line before you pays for your coffee, the one you desperately needed after spilling your first cup on your way out the door. You are immediatly overwhelmed with the kindness that your bad attitude derived from a terrible morning didn’t even deserve.
God uses little moments throughout our day to shower out His kindness and favor upon our lives. He goes out of His way to make sure His children know they are favored and loved by Him.
Yesterday I sat back and looked at my life over the past year and thought, wow. How did I even get to where I am today? How did I even get to this place where my heart is so full of God’s overwhelmingly love for me?
It’s His favor. It’s His grace. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Take a moment to recall God’s favor in your life. It’s overwhelming isn’t it?
