Have you ever been in a place where you wish that life had a
fast forward button? Where you could just skip past whatever in that moment
just wasn’t happening fast enough for you? I find myself in that place right
this moment during this roller coaster journey God has us on. I just want to
know where the journey is going to lead; I want to fast forward through the
journey.
But it’s in the journey that we learn and grow the most.
In fact, I’m sure it’s the journey that matters even more
than our destination.
than our destination.
Yes, wherever God takes us at the end of this journey is
part of our destiny and part of us fulfilling the calling God has for our life,
that is for certain. But the journey is all about developing us as we continue
to fulfill that destiny God has for us. Even if the journey ends in a closed
door, God has grown, taught, and equipped us with every open door. He is using
this journey to teach us more about Him and more about ourselves every step of
the way. And if this journey leads to more open doors and more possibilities,
the process of it equipped us to be fully ready for the destination.

The journey is never without purpose.
Some journeys are short, some journeys are long, some
journeys are tough, and some journeys are seemingly easy. One thing that never
changes is that every journey has a purpose.

Your life will be full of journeys that are developing in
you things that will prepare you to fulfill your destiny. It’s normal to look
for the fast forward button in anticipation of where the journey is going to
lead you; we all want to know the destination. But don’t be in a hurry to fast
forward through the most important part. Embrace the journey and embrace what
God is doing in you through the journey. Every journey takes you to another
level with Him. Every journey takes you one step closer to fulfilling the
destiny that God has for you.

It’s easier said than done, I realize that. I am reminding
myself this very truth in this very moment. But oh how sweet it is to know that
God is the one who is guiding your journey and in complete control of your
