Gifts for Boys Age 6-8

Find the perfect gifts for boys this Holiday season! Find out some of my top picks for big kid boy Christmas gifts and why we love them below!

Woom Bike 3

Woom Balance Bikes are probably my favorite bike for kids. They are incredibly light weight, making it easy for them to maneuver, but also me! They distinguish the color of the front brake from the others so the kids know which brake they should get used to pulling first. We didn’t have a balance bike for Jase because I was new to the concept. We got Elyse one last year and within one week she was riding like a PRO. Jase, on the other hand, because he started with training wheels has been so hesitant to balance on two wheels. We plan to use this one without the pedals for awhile to introduce the same concept with him. But from here on out, balance bikes will be our go to!

iTouch Playzoom

The iTouch Playzoom is the perfect Smart Watch for kids! This fully functional kid’s smartwatch has a stopwatch, alarm, timer, calendar, wallpaper, and a settings feature to help customize their watch face and edit attributes. There is no WiFi or app needed! They can play fun, engaging, educational games and it has a durable splash-proof design!

Dog Man Series

This is also a big hit for Jase!! He loves the books by Dav Pilkey and I am so grateful for them too. Jase had a hard time loving reading in Kindergarten because it was so pushed…then our neighbor’s son introduced him to these books and he has excelled! He is reading two grade levels ahead of him and loves these books! So definitely fueling his love of reading with these!

Headphones

Headphones are always a great addition to any gift guide for kids. I always want them on hand for tablet use or anytime we are in public. These were perfect!

Flash Dash Electronic Game

Family games are one of our favorites, so finding unique games is always on my to do list. Flashdash made by Winning Gingers offers 4 quick-fingered games in a unique light-up cube design. This is perfect for both kids and adults so it’s a great gift for boys who love games!

Lego Dimensions Starter Pack

We are just getting into the video game stage with Jase, but this is one of those that he found on YouTube and is really excited about. The Lego Dimensions starter pack is perfect to get you started with this game!

The Incredibles Video Game

Another game on the list in this video game world. This has been one Jase has been eyeing as well! I am sure that his dad is going to enjoy playing these games with him as well.

LEGO City Building Sets

LEGO’s are a big hit in our home. In fact, it’s one of the main things Jase plays with these days. It’s also one of the few toys that keep him quiet. The challenge of building LEGO’s is great for his age. He loves following the directions to put them together, but then ends up using his imagination to create new things in the future. We have so many LEGO sets and they are definitely well played with! A must have for a boy’s Christmas list.

Picasso Tiles

Piccaso Tiles are one of those toys that offer endless hours of fun!! The construction race car stacking block kit features quick connect magnetized edges to easily put the pieces together to engineer the architectural structure and design simply via the laws of physics and power of magnets. My kids love playing with magnets and seeing how the connect together to build something. There are so many other choices to choose from these can offer hours of endless play!

Yeti Forgetti Game

Another good family game added to the list! Jase loves playing this game with random objects in our home, so I knew I couldn’t go wrong with an actual game to make the fun last! This is an easy and inexpensive fun gift for the boys your shopping for this year.

Bookroo

Bookroo is a huge favorite in our home! Bookroo is a subscription service just for kids that sends books right to your door, geared for the age of your child! You can sign up for a multi-month subscription for a gift that keeps giving all year long. They individually wrap the books in each box which makes it a fun surprise every month! They have board books, picture books, and chapter books perfect for ages 0-10! I have never once received a book that I already owned, or have found on a shelf! They do such an incredible job of finding unique books just for you! The chapter book subscription is perfect for this age!

You deserve to exist, with the same grace and love You deserve to exist, with the same grace and love that you so freely give to your family. It’s not just about holding space for them; it’s about holding space for you, too.

You don’t have to shrink yourself to make room for others.

You deserve to take up space too.
Sometimes, the habits that helped us survive becom Sometimes, the habits that helped us survive become the hardest to unlearn. Those patterns once kept you safe, but now you’re learning they don’t need to anymore.

Give yourself grace—you’re unlearning survival. Healing takes time, and with each layer you peel back, you’re discovering the person you’ve always been beneath the survival.

And if you’re anything like me, you’ll really learn to love her. ❤️
✨ NEW SEASON ✨ I’m not a big fan of change. ✨ NEW SEASON ✨

I’m not a big fan of change. My nervous system gets all panicky and tends to over research every possibility that could take place. It likes to tell me safety is in the details.

But I know that’s not true.

This year has been a big year of growth for me in this department. Trauma told me control was my safety, but the truth was all I ever had was a false sense of control.

This year has offered plenty of opportunities for me to say, “Okay God, you have my yes, wherever that leads.”

No over research. No over analyzing. No predicting every possibility. No trying to control the outcome.

Just a heart that says, “Yes.”

Even when I don’t understand. Even when I’m nervous how it will turn out. Even when it feels like right now isn’t bad. Even when my heart’s confused.

Even when….

God has been asking us both a lot lately, “Do I have your yes, no matter what that looks like?” Friday was the end of a season for Chad working at the Appliance Guys, and today starts a new season of a new company. It was NOT an easy decision, and it came with a lot of tears (mainly from me - are you surprised?). His boss, where he’s been for the last almost six years, has been an incredible support for our family as we walked through some of the hardest seasons of our family. They will always hold a special place in our heart.

But God said “it’s time” and my faith-filled husband said “Yes.” I have to admit, I don’t envy how hard this decision was for him. It affects us both, yes. But he had to walk it out. And I’m so grateful for His leadership and faith to Jesus to step into the next season when there are so many unknowns.

Sometimes, all God wants to know is does He have our “YES” no matter what that means. No matter what that changes.

May I live my life in a way that has an open heart to hear from God and a willingness to say “YES” even when….

(PS he was so thrilled I made him take this photo. 😂 But I know this season will be one we forever ever want to remember, because God always shows His faithfulness).
I wonder if they would have chosen life for her. I wonder if they would have chosen life for her.

I wonder if they would have seen what was growing inside of her, and the fight that was about to come on the other side, if they would have said her life was worth saving.

I wonder if they would have discounted her before she had a chance.

I wonder if they would have made a prediction about her quality of life and deemed her not worth the cost.

I wonder if they would have saw the life saving measures she would need and decided that it was worse to let her live.

I wonder if they would have saw everything that could go wrong, the bleak prognosis, and compared her to statistics.

I wonder if they would have made a choice to encourage a decision that robbed us all of the miracle we see today.

Whether 48 hours or 4 years - her life has changed mine for the better. It’s heartbreaking to think someone may have once told me she wasn’t worth it.
