I’m a little obsessed with family photos. Every year when the fall season hits you can find me looking at the calendar for the best day to take fall family photos. There is something about having those pictures to look back on that makes my heart overwhelmingly happy. The pictures are usually far from perfect, but they capture our family in a moment in time that I never want to forget. Taking fall family photos has become a sort of tradition in our family.
Every year I pick one photo from our session to put on our “timeline gallery wall.” This wall is a collection of photos, one representing every year that we have been married. When we look on this gallery wall we can see how our family has grown and changed every year. I love having the visual reminder of where we started, and where we are today, and all the blessings in between.
One of the hardest tasks when preparing for family photos is finding something for everyone to wear. I remember struggling when it was just Chad and I…now I have five people to coordinate! So I try to come down with a color scheme or two to choose from, and go from there.
I’ve compiled two options that I am tossing around this year to see which one I like more. I am tossing between an olive green and mustard combination and a beige/brown and denim combination. They’re both so cute I can’t figure out which one I love more! Which family photo color scheme is your favorite? How do you find the perfect family photo outfits?
