5 Ways Non-Bloggers Can Support Their Blogging Friends

Bloggers love when their non-blogging friends support them! Find out how you can support your friends that blog!

Disclaimer: This post was sponsored by Basic Invite. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you’re a non-blogger and you came to this post because you have a friend that blogs, first of all let me say thank you on behalf of bloggers everywhere. You are an incredible friend for even taking the time to read this. I know that blogging can seem like a very interesting “job.” Some of you may not have considered it a job at all. There are so many misconceptions about what bloggers do. Most people think bloggers get a lot of free things, take a lot of pictures, post on social media an overwhelming amount of times, share way too much information about themselves, carry business cards with social media handles around for some weird reason, and use hashtags in everyday conversation (Whew. Out of breath yet?) All of those things may be true, but let me assure you there is a lot more to being a blogger than just what you see on the surface.

Our blog is a piece of who we are. Just like your friend who may own a coffee shop, a photography business, a bakery, or their own boutique, our business is something we are passionate about. We are more than just people who sit behind a screen and share pretty photos and every day products. We care about making a difference with what we have to say and inspire you in your every day. So you, supporting us, it’s a pretty big deal. Non-blogging friends can be a blogging friend’s biggest cheerleader. We need you. Your support is a big deal.

So, how can you support us?

Read what we write.

I know, you’re busy. I totally get it. But even if you can read a post or two a month, you’re supporting us. Every view that we get is one we take seriously because it’s someone we are reaching with our words. Whether we get 10 or 10 thousand. This is by far one of the easiest ways a non-blogging friend can support their blogging friend.

Share. Share. Share.

Sharing out posts is a really big deal. The whole reason influencer marketing has taken off is because people trust what real, every day people, like you and me, say about brands they love. So if you, a non-blogging friend, trust what your blogging friends says, and if you think their story can make a difference then share it! Share with other people, because there are people that you touch, that we don’t, who trust you and what you share. So, share our posts, share events that we host, share our social media, cheer us on! Ask your blogging friend for a business card, and I bet you’ll make their day. Yes, we have business cards.

Basic Invite is one of the few sites that allow customers to choose from an almost unlimited selection of colors. Their selection was perfect for finding the colors that fit my brand perfectly, making their high quality business cards perfect for sharing my business with others! There is no risk with ordering business cards from Basic Invite because they even allow you to print samples before placing your full order. There is no guessing what your final product will look like, you can be confident in your choice. They even have the option for gorgeous foil business cards that could be that perfect added touch to catch anyone’s eye. Basic Invite offers the perfect selection of unique business cards and options to upload your own logo allowing you to truly share your brand with others. Basic Invite allowed me to capture the vision of my brand in their high quality business cards helping me share the message of my brand.

You have the opportunity to help us share that message. Just like you would recommend your favorite stylist, baker, and photographer, share about your blogging friend who has helped you through a problem or encouraged you with something they’ve written.

Follow us.

Signing up for our newsletter, following on Instagram, following on Facebook, sharing our content on Pinterest – it all makes a difference. The more you follow and engage (that’s the big thing) with what we are sharing, the more our content reaches other people. Even though we like to believe numbers don’t matter, because we truly believe we are meant to do what we are doing, sometimes they do. Sometimes our numbers matter in keeping traffic to our blog. Sometimes numbers matter when we get sponsors. Numbers matter when we start to feel discouraged. Follow us, because I guarantee our real life friends following us means more than you know.

Support us.

Your support is a big deal. When you share our posts, when you hand out our business cards, when you go along with the thousands of pictures that we take on outings, we notice. To many of us, this is a way we support a family. This is where we find something we are passionate about. Your support keeps us going when things get hard.

Ask us about our blog.

I know this may seem silly, but ask us about our blog! Just like we would ask you how work is going, or how you like your job, or how your handling this pretty big project, ask us about our blog! Take an interest in what we are doing because it’s a part of our life! Sometimes it gets pretty hard. Sometime a post goes viral and we feel on top of the world. Sometimes we pour very raw pieces of ourselves into this space and we like knowing that you care. Our blog is a big community to us, and we truly make lasting relationships within the community, but nothing can ever replace the true relationships that we can find right here with you.

Blogging is a pretty big part of who we are. Blogging is something we are very passionate about. The support our non-blogging friends can give, nothing beats it.

So thanks. Thanks for cheering us on, for handing out our business cards, for liking and commenting on all our photos. We truly couldn’t do this without you.

You deserve to exist, with the same grace and love You deserve to exist, with the same grace and love that you so freely give to your family. It’s not just about holding space for them; it’s about holding space for you, too.

You don’t have to shrink yourself to make room for others.

You deserve to take up space too.
Sometimes, the habits that helped us survive becom Sometimes, the habits that helped us survive become the hardest to unlearn. Those patterns once kept you safe, but now you’re learning they don’t need to anymore.

Give yourself grace—you’re unlearning survival. Healing takes time, and with each layer you peel back, you’re discovering the person you’ve always been beneath the survival.

And if you’re anything like me, you’ll really learn to love her. ❤️
✨ NEW SEASON ✨ I’m not a big fan of change. ✨ NEW SEASON ✨

I’m not a big fan of change. My nervous system gets all panicky and tends to over research every possibility that could take place. It likes to tell me safety is in the details.

But I know that’s not true.

This year has been a big year of growth for me in this department. Trauma told me control was my safety, but the truth was all I ever had was a false sense of control.

This year has offered plenty of opportunities for me to say, “Okay God, you have my yes, wherever that leads.”

No over research. No over analyzing. No predicting every possibility. No trying to control the outcome.

Just a heart that says, “Yes.”

Even when I don’t understand. Even when I’m nervous how it will turn out. Even when it feels like right now isn’t bad. Even when my heart’s confused.

Even when….

God has been asking us both a lot lately, “Do I have your yes, no matter what that looks like?” Friday was the end of a season for Chad working at the Appliance Guys, and today starts a new season of a new company. It was NOT an easy decision, and it came with a lot of tears (mainly from me - are you surprised?). His boss, where he’s been for the last almost six years, has been an incredible support for our family as we walked through some of the hardest seasons of our family. They will always hold a special place in our heart.

But God said “it’s time” and my faith-filled husband said “Yes.” I have to admit, I don’t envy how hard this decision was for him. It affects us both, yes. But he had to walk it out. And I’m so grateful for His leadership and faith to Jesus to step into the next season when there are so many unknowns.

Sometimes, all God wants to know is does He have our “YES” no matter what that means. No matter what that changes.

May I live my life in a way that has an open heart to hear from God and a willingness to say “YES” even when….

(PS he was so thrilled I made him take this photo. 😂 But I know this season will be one we forever ever want to remember, because God always shows His faithfulness).
I wonder if they would have chosen life for her. I wonder if they would have chosen life for her.

I wonder if they would have seen what was growing inside of her, and the fight that was about to come on the other side, if they would have said her life was worth saving.

I wonder if they would have discounted her before she had a chance.

I wonder if they would have made a prediction about her quality of life and deemed her not worth the cost.

I wonder if they would have saw the life saving measures she would need and decided that it was worse to let her live.

I wonder if they would have saw everything that could go wrong, the bleak prognosis, and compared her to statistics.

I wonder if they would have made a choice to encourage a decision that robbed us all of the miracle we see today.

Whether 48 hours or 4 years - her life has changed mine for the better. It’s heartbreaking to think someone may have once told me she wasn’t worth it.
