Brothers, Superheroes, and Lego’s are the three words I have to describe this super combined boys’s birthday party! Jase and Jude’s birthdays are just 11 days apart, so realistically doing two different parties is not going to happen. I almost didn’t even make the one happen this year between kid’s camp and getting sick immediately after camp finished, but with it being the big ONE for Jude, I didn’t want to miss out. Jase was asking for ANOTHER Paw Patrol Birthday this year, until finally Superheroes made their entrance into his life and he wanted a Batman Lego party. So I tried to think of a fun way to combine the party with Jase’s theme idea, and then I remembered that adorable quote “Sometimes being a brother is better than being a superhero” and it couldn’t have been more perfect! So we ran with this SUPER Birthday theme for the boys and it was SO MUCH FUN!
My staple when it comes to feeding large crowds at a boys party is hot dogs. I know it’s nothing cute and theme worthy, but most of the time kids just want a hot dog! So hot dogs, macaroni, chips, baked beans, and watermelon cut into little starts to go with some of the shapes and themes at the party. It was the perfect kids finger food and we kept it fun and simple.
Catherine’s Cakery is local to STL and run by one of my sweet friends and we get EVERY THING from her. She is amazing. She was able to take all these requests from Jase and put them into cupcakes, and let me tell you his wish list was long. Combining Batman, Robin, Superhero theme, and Lego’s was no easy task. As usual, she knocked it out of the park. They were perfect! We just gave the boys a Batman and Robin Duo for cake time and they loved it.
I ordered most of the decor from Oriental! There are always coupon codes so everything was super cheap and it all came together perfectly! It was such a fun way to celebrate both boys and I am glad it all tied together well! I’m not much of a superhero guru, so I was surprised at myself for pulling it off.
I also found a few of these adorable superhero prints on Etsy and I think I might be adding them to our playroom! They were perfect in tying everything together, and since all of our kids love superheroes right now it seems like the perfect addition for the playroom!
My favorite part would have to be the ADORABLE shirts a friend made for the boys. Jase had a Batman shirt with the words hero, and Jude was his trusty sidekick as Robin. I mean, does it get any cuter than this? And now I have a one year old and a five year old….just like that.
