3 Ways to Give Your Baby the Best Start

Ask any mom how much she loves her child and you will find her without the words to even describe the depth of that love. There is no words to explain a mother’s love for her baby. A mother’s love is as powerful as it gets. Every mom would agree that giving their baby the best start to this life is one of their top priorities. Everything we do is inspired by the little lives in our hands, we can’t help it. Becoming a mother truly changes all of the priorities in our life. It’s a good thing, a beautiful thing, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Giving our baby the best start to life can be overwhelming. With so much advice coming at us, so many things pulling for our attention, and so many resources we can struggle to figure out just how to start. Sometimes we easily forget that some of the best things we can do for our babies to give them the best start is right in front of us.

Let everything else wait. When that precious baby is placed in your arms for the very first time, at that moment, nothing else seems important. Remember that moment. Soon life will be calling for your attention, dishes will need to be done, and to-do lists will beg to be completed. Remember that nothing is as important as that little life in your hands. You’ll never regret the time you spend loving your baby.

Breastfeed as much as possible. I have been able to breastfeed all three of my babies until they were one or shortly after, and I don’t take that privilege for granted. There are many mamas who have wanted to breastfeed, and for whatever reason were unable to, and because of that I realize it truly is a gift. Breastfeeding has become something I truly have treasured with each of my kids.

Did you know that our bodies are made to make exactly what our baby needs at exactly the right moment? Breast milk is such an incredible immune system booster for our babies. Feeding when mom is sick even creates antibodies for baby’s immune system against the same virus! Breastfeeding is a great way to give your baby just what they need at any given moment. It’s a great way to start building a foundation for a healthy baby from the very beginning.

Give your baby a probiotic. I regret not researching probitotics sooner. The more I have learned about their advantages, the more I wish I would have utilized them with my first two. That’s why I am using Evivo probiotics with Jude and establishing a healthy foundation from the start. Evivo is the first and only baby probiotic of its kind. Evivo contains the good bacteria B. infantis, which fully utilizes breast milk to protect baby’s gut from potentially harmful bacteria. One of the most surprising facts to discover was that historically, bifidobacteria, particularly B. infantis (a good bacteria), created a protective environment by dominating the infant gut, and continues to do so today in many developing countries. However, modern medical practices such as antibiotic use and C-section deliveries have led to the near-total loss of this good bacteria (B. infantis) in infants in developed countries, including the U.S.

Evivo has been proven to restore infants’ gut microbiome 100% of the time. In the trial, babies given Evivo showed an 80% reduction in potentially harmful bacteria such as E. coli, clostridia, Staph and Strep; those babies who did not receive Evivo had more than 4 times the level of these potentially harmful bacteria versus the babies given Evivo. What a difference that makes in your baby’s health!

Evivo significantly reduces the presence of bad bacteria by restoring B. infantis, a specific strainof beneficial bacteria that’s historically been responsible for much of the programming of the immune system and metabolism

Giving our baby the best start doesn’t have to be hard. We can do just that with some of the most simple steps.

You deserve to exist, with the same grace and love You deserve to exist, with the same grace and love that you so freely give to your family. It’s not just about holding space for them; it’s about holding space for you, too.

You don’t have to shrink yourself to make room for others.

You deserve to take up space too.
Sometimes, the habits that helped us survive becom Sometimes, the habits that helped us survive become the hardest to unlearn. Those patterns once kept you safe, but now you’re learning they don’t need to anymore.

Give yourself grace—you’re unlearning survival. Healing takes time, and with each layer you peel back, you’re discovering the person you’ve always been beneath the survival.

And if you’re anything like me, you’ll really learn to love her. ❤️
✨ NEW SEASON ✨ I’m not a big fan of change. ✨ NEW SEASON ✨

I’m not a big fan of change. My nervous system gets all panicky and tends to over research every possibility that could take place. It likes to tell me safety is in the details.

But I know that’s not true.

This year has been a big year of growth for me in this department. Trauma told me control was my safety, but the truth was all I ever had was a false sense of control.

This year has offered plenty of opportunities for me to say, “Okay God, you have my yes, wherever that leads.”

No over research. No over analyzing. No predicting every possibility. No trying to control the outcome.

Just a heart that says, “Yes.”

Even when I don’t understand. Even when I’m nervous how it will turn out. Even when it feels like right now isn’t bad. Even when my heart’s confused.

Even when….

God has been asking us both a lot lately, “Do I have your yes, no matter what that looks like?” Friday was the end of a season for Chad working at the Appliance Guys, and today starts a new season of a new company. It was NOT an easy decision, and it came with a lot of tears (mainly from me - are you surprised?). His boss, where he’s been for the last almost six years, has been an incredible support for our family as we walked through some of the hardest seasons of our family. They will always hold a special place in our heart.

But God said “it’s time” and my faith-filled husband said “Yes.” I have to admit, I don’t envy how hard this decision was for him. It affects us both, yes. But he had to walk it out. And I’m so grateful for His leadership and faith to Jesus to step into the next season when there are so many unknowns.

Sometimes, all God wants to know is does He have our “YES” no matter what that means. No matter what that changes.

May I live my life in a way that has an open heart to hear from God and a willingness to say “YES” even when….

(PS he was so thrilled I made him take this photo. 😂 But I know this season will be one we forever ever want to remember, because God always shows His faithfulness).
I wonder if they would have chosen life for her. I wonder if they would have chosen life for her.

I wonder if they would have seen what was growing inside of her, and the fight that was about to come on the other side, if they would have said her life was worth saving.

I wonder if they would have discounted her before she had a chance.

I wonder if they would have made a prediction about her quality of life and deemed her not worth the cost.

I wonder if they would have saw the life saving measures she would need and decided that it was worse to let her live.

I wonder if they would have saw everything that could go wrong, the bleak prognosis, and compared her to statistics.

I wonder if they would have made a choice to encourage a decision that robbed us all of the miracle we see today.

Whether 48 hours or 4 years - her life has changed mine for the better. It’s heartbreaking to think someone may have once told me she wasn’t worth it.
