Welcome to the New You Are More!

You Are More Motherhood and Lifestyle blog launch.

Welcome to the new You Are More! I could not be more glad that you have found yourself in this space today and I hope that you stick around and find something for yourself.

You Are More has been around for awhile and has continued to evolve into so much. This space started off as a place for the things on my heart to overflow into words. It was a hobby, something I did once in awhile, but something I so very loved. Over the years this place has grown into so much more.  This blog is my space where I get to be me, where I get to unfold who I am outside of being a wife, outside of being a mom, outside of all the different hats I wear. This is where everything else that makes me who I am can find its home with no limitations.

What is the heart behind You Are More?

If you have been here for awhile, it would be no surprise to you that my heart beats to encourage women, but most of all, to encourage mamas. I am passionate about reaching out to mamas and reminding them that they aren’t alone in this walk of motherhood. In the day in and day out of life, you are more than just a mom. Too often we put limitations on ourselves, even subconsciously, that keep us from discovering all of who we are and who we can be. It’s in this place I remove those limitations and seek to remind you to remove them as well. I know all too well what it’s like to get lost in the mundane of every day, and I want you to remember that you are so much more.

You Are More is here to encourage moms and meet them right where they are. When their heart is weary, when their heart is overwhelmed with joy, when the days are long, and when the days are short. No matter where you find yourself, I want this place to be your safe place. I want this place to remind you that you aren’t alone. There is a community here that is seeking to do life together with you and uplift you. You don’t have to do this alone.

Does this mean You Are More is a motherhood blog?

I used to shy away from the term “mommy blogger.” I have this thing with being put in boxes and I don’t like it very much. I don’t want to feel like I can only reach where my box allows me to reach and nothing more. So, I didn’t want to be boxed in. But from the people who know me most, this ever growing passion to reach mamas was bursting out of me, and the more it was pointed out, the more I began to embrace it. You Are More will have a large focus on motherhood and the season of raising young children, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t find something for you here if you aren’t a mom. I promise you there is something in this space that can encourage your heart no matter what season of life you are in. You Are More will primarily be a motherhood and lifestyle blog.

What is to come for You Are More?

A whole lot of fun! But really, this space is going to continue growing and evolving just as it has been from the beginning. I will be sharing with you bits of my motherhood journey and what the Lord is speaking and encouraging me in this walk of raising children. My motherhood journey is rooted in the foundation of my faith in Jesus and my heart to encourage you is birthed out of that faith. I hope to make you laugh, I hope to make you cry, I hope to make you think, I hope to encourage you, and I hope to help you realize that you aren’t alone. Motherhood is beautiful, and a little bit crazy, but together we will embrace that crazy and discover our worth! You are more!

There are some exciting giveaways around the corner and a community that is waiting just for you, I can’t wait to get to know you more!

You deserve to exist, with the same grace and love You deserve to exist, with the same grace and love that you so freely give to your family. It’s not just about holding space for them; it’s about holding space for you, too.

You don’t have to shrink yourself to make room for others.

You deserve to take up space too.
Sometimes, the habits that helped us survive becom Sometimes, the habits that helped us survive become the hardest to unlearn. Those patterns once kept you safe, but now you’re learning they don’t need to anymore.

Give yourself grace—you’re unlearning survival. Healing takes time, and with each layer you peel back, you’re discovering the person you’ve always been beneath the survival.

And if you’re anything like me, you’ll really learn to love her. ❤️
✨ NEW SEASON ✨ I’m not a big fan of change. ✨ NEW SEASON ✨

I’m not a big fan of change. My nervous system gets all panicky and tends to over research every possibility that could take place. It likes to tell me safety is in the details.

But I know that’s not true.

This year has been a big year of growth for me in this department. Trauma told me control was my safety, but the truth was all I ever had was a false sense of control.

This year has offered plenty of opportunities for me to say, “Okay God, you have my yes, wherever that leads.”

No over research. No over analyzing. No predicting every possibility. No trying to control the outcome.

Just a heart that says, “Yes.”

Even when I don’t understand. Even when I’m nervous how it will turn out. Even when it feels like right now isn’t bad. Even when my heart’s confused.

Even when….

God has been asking us both a lot lately, “Do I have your yes, no matter what that looks like?” Friday was the end of a season for Chad working at the Appliance Guys, and today starts a new season of a new company. It was NOT an easy decision, and it came with a lot of tears (mainly from me - are you surprised?). His boss, where he’s been for the last almost six years, has been an incredible support for our family as we walked through some of the hardest seasons of our family. They will always hold a special place in our heart.

But God said “it’s time” and my faith-filled husband said “Yes.” I have to admit, I don’t envy how hard this decision was for him. It affects us both, yes. But he had to walk it out. And I’m so grateful for His leadership and faith to Jesus to step into the next season when there are so many unknowns.

Sometimes, all God wants to know is does He have our “YES” no matter what that means. No matter what that changes.

May I live my life in a way that has an open heart to hear from God and a willingness to say “YES” even when….

(PS he was so thrilled I made him take this photo. 😂 But I know this season will be one we forever ever want to remember, because God always shows His faithfulness).
I wonder if they would have chosen life for her. I wonder if they would have chosen life for her.

I wonder if they would have seen what was growing inside of her, and the fight that was about to come on the other side, if they would have said her life was worth saving.

I wonder if they would have discounted her before she had a chance.

I wonder if they would have made a prediction about her quality of life and deemed her not worth the cost.

I wonder if they would have saw the life saving measures she would need and decided that it was worse to let her live.

I wonder if they would have saw everything that could go wrong, the bleak prognosis, and compared her to statistics.

I wonder if they would have made a choice to encourage a decision that robbed us all of the miracle we see today.

Whether 48 hours or 4 years - her life has changed mine for the better. It’s heartbreaking to think someone may have once told me she wasn’t worth it.
