I have been meaning to share our big project for Jase’s Christmas present this last Christmas for some time now and I am just finally getting around to it. Jase was always using the candles around our house and this little toy shovel he had with one of his lego sets and pretending to cook food for us. I knew the perfect gift for him would be a kitchen set. I had seen all these great entertainment centers turned kitchen set and I thought it would be a fun project for us to do with Jase. So I asked on Facebook before looking on craigslist and ended up getting an old stand for free! Then the entire project itself cost just around $100 to do. It is still one of Jase’s favorite things to play with.
At the end of this post I shared some details about what we used to make the kitchen set and where we found everything. I love that this was handmade for him by us, and mostly his daddy. I just feel like it makes it that much more special and I know this will last through all our kids.
Sink: Medium Mixing Bowl from Wal-Mart
Faucet: $15 at Wal-Mart
Stove Top: Wooden Circles in the Craft Area at Wal-Mart .88cents Each
Wooden Stove Knobs: Lowe’s Drawer Handle Aisle
All Handles were from Lowe’s and around $1 Each
We were able to use most of the wood from the original entertainment center, but we did buy one piece of wood for the bottom cabinet and stove piece.
